Good evening from beautiful Gulf Shores!
Today seems to be almost a direct contrast from yesterday. Beautiful weather, calmer waters (though red flags are still present, which indicate a high risk), and no jellyfish on the shore have made today simply wonderful.
We woke up around 10:30 AM (early for four college students) and decided to venture to the beach. We romped in the water for a little bit and lay on the beach for a while. Well, all of us expect Cody, who cannot tan because he is a red-head. Poor Cody.
Eventually, we came back to the condo to eat lunch and then we went to the pool for a while. Because I injured my toe last night by colliding with my suitcase, I couldn't stay in the water very long. But, I certainly tanned for a while!
After chilling in the condo for a while, we decided to go eat at Sea N' Suds, a seafood restaurant overlooking the Gulf. The food was very good, and our waitress treated us very well by giving us free hush puppies and fries. After another stop at yet another souvenir shop, we headed back to the condo to watch Glee!
After Glee, we walked down the beach exploring the nocturnal occupants of the shore, namely crabs. Luckily, crabs feast on jellyfish, so there were virtually no jellyfish onshore for me to step in. I wore my flip flops anyway.
One caveat: James, Bryan, and I had pretty nice sunburns at the end of the day. Luckily, my sunburn-prone areas, such as my ears, nose, shoulders, and feet, survived the UV rays thanks to my mother's 70 SPF sunblock. Cody lathered in his own 70 SPF sunblock and is still as white as ever. Yay Cody!
After our stroll on the beach, we made our second trip to Wal-Mart . . . at 12:00 am. Tomorrow looks to be quite fun as well!
I just finished reading Catching Fire.
